One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest

Did you enjoy our atmospheric production of Frankenstein in the Underground hospital? Desperate for some more site specific theatre? Then look no further!

Our second play of the year is Dale Wasserman’s adaption of Ken Kesey’s psychotic novel “One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest”.

We are delighted to be teaming up with Festung Guernsey to bring another atmospheric vision to the island theatre scene. In a room littered with world war 2 cabling and power supplies, this really is the perfect backdrop for our very own mental institution.

Reviews

  • Really enjoyed it.  A super performance.
Keeping in character, especially nurses, as we entered and left really held the atmosphere.

  • Acting superb,
signposting could be better, the MTG sign could only been seen when going down the hill, and because of road closures, everyone had to drive up the hill! there were lots of people wandering up to the farm, round the school, looking for the entrance.

  • Loved the atmosphere created by the location!
Loved the atmosphere created by the cast!
Loved the overall interpretation of the subject matter!

Loved how you blended novice and experienced cast members – made it all the more believable!

Loved less the the spit/drool expelled by Ruckly – as we were next to the “step up” – blame it on my neurosis post Covid – Maybe Dr Spivey could help me with this! (hence the less than five star rating)

Whilst all involved were excellent in their characters, I can’t shake off Nurse Ratched’s steely eyes!

Excellent performance and I’m looking forward to the next one! Thank you!

  • A thoroughly enjoyable night out in an unusual setting.
We all agreed the actors got fully into their characters, and had us gripped, and on the edge of our seats!
Very professional – we look forward to seeing more shows.

  • Great performance and excellent venue !

  • The performance of the whole cast was excellent, especially Nurse Ratched and great energy from RP McMurphy actor. The use of the venue was inspired. Great direction. Thoroughly impressed with the whole production.

  • This was my first time to one of your productions and thoroughly enjoyed it

  • BRILLIANT

    – Elaine V

  • A completely absorbing performance that held me right to the tragic but inevitable final scene. Nurse Ratched’s controlled and controlling behaviour were brilliantly portrayed by Francesca Remick as was Sam Hearne’s energetic and irrepressible McMurphy. The relationships between the inmates were so convincing as they maintained their characters so consistently throughout the evening. Fabulously atmospheric venue at Mirus Battery

  • The actor who played nurse rachet was absolutely amazing.

The layout of the seating made sitting on the front row very close to the actors and rather uncomfortable.

  • Excellent performance. The actors were all brilliant but have to say Nurse Ratched scared the pants off us! The location was genius! Just sorry we missed Frankenstein at the Underground Hospital now

  • An absolutely incredible production.
From start to finish it was a fully immersive experience in an incredibly atmospheric venue.
