Dear Evan Hansen

8th to 12th September 2026

Today is going to be a good day… and here’s why.

There are shows that entertain. There are shows that impress. And then there are shows that feel like they were written about you.

Dear Evan Hansen is one of those shows.

A deeply moving and profoundly human musical, Dear Evan Hansen tells the story of a boy who feels invisible in a world where everyone seems louder, braver, and more connected than he is. But when one small lie spirals into something far bigger, Evan is suddenly given the one thing he has always wanted: to belong.

Whether you’re a parent, a teenager, a friend, or simply someone who has ever felt out of place, Dear Evan Hansen reaches into those quiet parts of ourselves and reminds us that connection matters — and that nobody is ever truly alone.

Featuring a powerful, contemporary score including You Will Be Found, Waving Through a Window and For Forever, this modern musical phenomenon has touched millions across the world and become one of the most important theatrical stories of its generation.

Now, this extraordinary production comes to Guernsey for a strictly limited run at St James. This is more than a musical. It’s a conversation. A mirror. A reminder.

And it might just stay with you long after the curtain falls.

Tickets on sale: 26 June 2026

Watched tonight. I didn’t know what this would be about so have mixed feedback. Yes excellent performances all round, and singing and music was great. I could have done with a warning about the themes as the show brought back difficult personal memories. The show features very important discussion topics, I just found it a little difficult to watch.

Nevertheless well done all. A really great performance.

Given my personal comments I have not commented on facebook and will withhold my name as I know some of you!

Thought you were all amazing. Massive well done to the main character Evan - you were terrific. Great group harmonies in all the songs and the band were brilliant. Truck song was emotional and very well song. Loved the confidence on stage and the character reactions - tricky to get across that emotion. Well done all.

Difficult watch but very thought provoking! Got me thinking about my own childhood a bit too. Everyone trying their best but not really noticing each other. Cast were fab! Parents were great and well cast. Harry you did so well. Where did Eve spring from! I am an Eve fan so was delighted to see her in the performance (fantastic as always!). The band and especially the musician playing the guitar were exceptional. Good luck for the rest of the run!

I had absolutely no idea what I was coming to see! This show has very important issues to highlight (which I won’t spoil). I found it a really fascinating watch, albeit a bit difficult at times due to the material. Evan, you did a great job - so much to learn! All the cast were great in fact. Favourite song was I think called ‘good for you’ which had fantastic vocals I thought. I liked the two more comic performances too, both were great actors. My husband commented on the energy the girl brought to the stage too.

I watched this in my home city years ago and to be honest I found it a bit depressing! On second watch yes it’s a bit dark but I thought you guys did an amazing job! Shout outs to Evan, the two guitar soloists (guitarist was amazing!) and I really loved Jared and Alana and the group song in part 2 - amazing singing! Whoever jazzed up the part of Alana did a fantastic job as it added to the show and added a bit of ‘light’ - my personal highlight performance there!

What a fantastic show. My personal highlights were Heidi’s solo at the end and Good For You. God can that girl playing Alana sing. She has a voice way beyond her years. It’s also difficult to make Alana a nerdy but also likeable character and that was pulled off exceptionally. A fabulous cast and I can’t wait to see more of them on the stage in the future!
